Itinerary

Marie Reine De la Paix:

Translated as Mary Queen of Peace, Marie Reine de la Paix is a Catholic cathedral and holy place with a magnificent statue that shows the Virgin Mary clutching a globe. Constructed in 1940, the statue is three meters tall and is made of white Carrara marble.

In Mauritius, the church of Marie Reine de la Paix is a popular site for Catholic pilgrims. Thousands of worshippers go to the church’s hallowed grounds on holy holidays like the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which are marked by a special reverence. Pope John Paul II made a stop at the church in 1989 while traveling abroad for the 44th time.

Citadel Fort:

Built in honor of King William IV’s wife, Citadel Fort’s construction started on November 11, 1830, and finished on November 4, 1840, ten years later. Only the Citadel Fort, popularly known as Fort Adelaide, stood up to the French invasion of the four British castles constructed in the 19th century.
Fort Adelaide is a well-known location for residents, who frequently go there on the weekends for a quick getaway or to jog because of the stunning views it offers of the dawn and sunset. If you want to escape the crowds, we do suggest going during the week.
Make sure to pay a visit to this little yet impressive example of historical architecture during your vacation.

Port Louis + local market

Wander around Mauritius’s central market, where your nose will be tickled by the aromas of fruits, vegetables, seafood, and spices.
Away from the sections with fresh and cooked vegetables, there are a number of vendors offering apparel, handcrafted goods from Madagascar, Mauritius, and Rodrigues, gifts and souvenirs, and Hindu-only vendors with items for their prayers. Traditional Mauritius snacks and delicacies, such as “hot dholl puris,” fried noodles, and vegetable and non-vegetarian masala curries, are plenty if you’re hungry.

Caudan Waterfront:

Constructed in 1996 along the Port Louis coastline, this is the first contemporary retail mall in Mauritius. Shops, a hotel, dining options, bars, clubs, movie theaters, a casino, a museum, currency exchange, and a craft market are all included in the mall.

Pamplemousses Botanical Garden:

Without a question, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Mauritius is this. The garden is the oldest in the Southern Hemisphere and has an abundance of native species. It was established more than 300 years ago by the renowned French botanist Pierre Poivre.
The Talipot Palm blooms only every 30 to 80 years, so if you get to witness one, consider yourself highly fortunate! In addition, there are magnificent water lilies, Java Deer, and enormous tortoises. Relax beneath one of the numerous gazebos scattered across the property and take in the peace and charm of this exquisite and distinctive Pamplemousses botanical garden.
